Bell peppers are in high demand on the global market, especially in European countries. In North America, the summer bell pepper production in California is uncertain due to weather challenges, while most of the production comes from Mexico. In Europe, the price and availability of bell peppers vary from region to region, for example in Italy, the price of bell peppers ranges between 2.00 and 2.50 €/kg. Therefore, a controlled growing environment is very necessary. Growing bell pepper in a glass greenhouse.

Seed treatment: Soak the seeds in 55℃ warm water for 15 minutes, stirring constantly, stop stirring when the water temperature drops to 30℃, and soak for another 8-12 hours. Or. Soak the seeds in water at about 30℃ for 3-4 hours, take them out and soak them in 1% potassium permanganate solution for 20 minutes (to prevent virus diseases) or 72.2% Prolec water 800 times solution for 30 minutes (to prevent blight and anthrax). After rinsing with clean water several times, soak the seeds in warm water at about 30℃.
Wrap the treated seeds with a wet cloth, control the water content and place them in a tray, cover them tightly with a wet cloth, place them at 28-30℃ for germination, rinse them with warm water once a day, and 70% of the seeds can be sown after 4-5 days when they germinate.

Transplanting of seedlings: To accelerate the development of the seedling root system, high temperature and humidity should be maintained for 5-6 days after transplanting. 28-30℃ during the day, not less than 25℃ at night, and humidity of 70-80%.After transplanting, if the temperature is too high and the humidity is too high, the plant will grow too long, resulting in falling flowers and fruits, forming "empty seedlings", and the whole plant will not produce any fruit. The daytime temperature is 20~25℃, the night temperature is 18~21℃, the soil temperature is about 20℃, and the humidity is 50%~60%.The soil humidity should be controlled at about 80%, and a drip irrigation system should be used.

Adjust the plant: The single fruit of the bell pepper is large. In order to ensure the quality and yield of the fruit, the plant needs to be adjusted. Each plant retains 2 strong side branches, removes other side branches as soon as possible, and removes some leaves according to the plant conditions to facilitate ventilation and light transmission. Each side branch is best kept vertically upward. It is best to use a hanging vine rope to wrap the hanging branch. Pruning and winding work is generally carried out once a week.
Bell Pepper quality management: Generally, the number of fruits per side branch for the first time does not exceed 3, and deformed fruits should be removed as soon as possible to avoid wasting nutrients and affecting the growth and development of other fruits. The fruit is usually harvested every 4 to 5 days, preferably in the morning. After harvesting, the fruit should be protected from sunlight and stored at a temperature of 15 to 16 degrees Celsius.
